Field Day will be June 24 and 25, 2023.
Hi Everyone,
We’re all going to be doing Field Day for real! We plan our usual setup at the SouthBridge Community Church as we have done in the past.
Setup begins at 8:00 am – we need your help! We then have lunch, thanks to Connie, and at 1 pm we get on the air!
We need several coolers, several cases of water, lots of soda pop to keep the troops hydrated. The club will reimburse you for the water. You can’t bring too much.
We will have a GOTA (Get On The Air) station set up for you who have not been on HF or worked in a contest before. There are lots of us around to help you make your contacts. We will use Al Bukowski’s call, N9ZD, for the GOTA call sign. Nice and easy call! We hope to have the club’s FlexRadio 5000 SDR again this year. It is a fun radio to use.
The location is Southbridge Church, one block West of Harlem on 155th St., or if you prefer, Wheeler Drive.
We will feature lunch prepared by Connie, AC9CK, while dinner and breakfast are prepared by Rick, W9DOQ. s
Here is our menu:
Lunch: Fix your own tacos. The fixings will be provided and you make your own taco. If you like onions, then feel free to dump them on! Burritos will be available too.
Dinner: We go Italian with Italian beef sandwiches and all the trimmings.
Breakfast: Sausages, eggs, pancakes (with real butter and maple syrup)
