We are taking reservations for GENERAL class study – Fall 2017
Above picture taken several years ago at a Extra Class training session.
The Hamfesters Radio Club is offering a series of evening classes to prepare you for the General class FCC exam.
Training location will be announced when the training class is scheduled. We will meet on Wednesday evenings 7pm to 9pm with a short break. Expected starting date is in middle September.
Class agenda: General study material from the ARRL License Manual (8th edition).
The evening is filled with in depth study of radio theory, antennas, safety, and applicable rules and regulations. Home reading and study will be required. Training will require study the assigned pages in the ARRL License Manual, and watching a nicely prepared video at home. You will need home access to a computer and the internet for the videos. Class will assume you have studied and watched the video. The instructors will be available to review the difficult topics where you might have questions.
The training cost is $30 which covers the cost of the ARRL License Manual (There is no charge for the class if you bring your own study manual). The ARRL License Manual (8th edition) is our study guide. If you register ahead of time, we will order your license manual for you. You also may purchase your ARRL License Manual from the ARRL, well stocked local book store, or online at Amazon.
If you are interested in upgrading your Ham radio operator license, this is your best chance. You do not have to be a member of any club to take the class – just real interest in obtaining your General ham license. Your instructors are: Mel, NE9A, and Brian, W9HLQ
We need your name, contact phone number or email address and whether you need a License Manual or not.
